Data Importer can be used to import data in a presentation in PowerPoint. To do this, the presentation must be created with potential tables, charts, and text.
Text should have angle brackets around the variable to control it with the data source:
<< >>
For example:
<<Slide1Title>>
Charts should be named properly. It is important that the name starts with:
Chart_
For example:
Chart_YearlyQoute
Tables should be named properly. It is important that the name starts with:
Table_
For example:
Table_SalesOverview
To rename charts and tables go into the shape overview in PowerPoint.
ALT+F10
When this is done, save the presentation and click "Create Data Source".
This will create a data source that must be saved in a folder. Now, it is possible to open this source in Excel, where the values can be changed. If the presentation in PowerPoint contains several tables and charts the source will consist of several sheets in Excel. The text variables will always be on the first sheet.
