Overview

This article lists released changes, improvements, and fixes for Omnidocs Create. Use the release notes to identify when a feature, improvement, or fix was introduced.

Build numbers are included where available. Build numbers follow the format YYYYMMDD.iteration.

March 26, 2026 (Build: 20260325.6)

This release primarily includes API improvements while larger upcoming features continue to be developed.

API improvements

• Improved core API error handling.
  • Error responses are clearer and more actionable, making integrations easier to troubleshoot.
• Added support for Late Merge workflows.
  • Documents can now be finalized at a later stage with updated data and returned as either Word or PDF.
  • This supports workflows where documents are completed over time and in multiple steps.

February 18, 2026 (Build: 20260218.2)

This release improves profile management and automatic form prefilling. Profile management parity is now available in Production.

New features and improvements

• Profile management, also known as switch profile, is now available in Production.
  • Users can select a person or profile from a Select field and have relevant base form fields automatically prefilled.
  • When switching to another person or profile, fields are updated automatically to match the new selection.
• Admins can now enable Preselect logged-in userfor Identities Selects.
  • This automatically selects the current user when the form opens.
  • The selection also triggers the same prefilling behavior.

November 25, 2025 (Build: 20251124.2)

This release includes larger feature work and minor improvements.

New features and improvements

• Organizations can now be deleted.
  • As a super admin, you can mark an organization for deletion, making it immediately unavailable.
  • After 7 days, the organization is permanently removed.
• Adjusted German localization in some areas of Create.
• Updated the Create login page with a help link.
• Added minor updates.

October 28, 2025 (Build: 20251027.5)

This release includes several larger features aimed at improving the Create experience.

New features and improvements

• Units can now be deleted.
  • You can mark a unit for deletion, making it immediately unavailable.
  • After 7 days, the unit is permanently removed.
• Added new binding types: Reference and Bookmark.
  • Combining these bindings makes it possible to create dynamic tables of contents in recipes.
• Recipe Reference fields are now auto-selected and hidden when they contain one option and are required.
• Added support for JSON pathing in form field keys.
• Updated the privacy policy link on the login page.

Bug fixes

• Removed the Delete and Duplicate buttons from the Identities data source, as it is a protected system data source.
• Fixed an issue where new Document Attachment form components could not be created.

October 14, 2025 (Build: 20251013.8)

This release expands localization and adds minor improvements.

New features and improvements

• Added German localization.
• Added hyphenation to the preview when creating documents.
  • Hyphenation is only added to the preview if it is enabled in the recipe used for document generation.
• Added build number in the administration page.
  • The build number is displayed at the bottom of the top-left menu.
  • Click the build number to copy it to the clipboard.
• Added minor adjustments.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where user identity form components were not created correctly when doing backup and restore into another unit.

Note: Build numbers

From this release onward, release notes include build numbers. This makes it possible to compare the build number of an application with the release notes and confirm whether a specific feature is included in that version.

September 30, 2025

This release expands localization and improves the overall Create experience.

New features and improvements

• Added the option to duplicate data sources, custom functions, form components, virtual recipes, and assets.
• Added Dutch localization.
• Updated the Office JS manifest so it includes the organization subdomain.
  • Users no longer need to provide the subdomain when logging in to Create from Office applications.
• Added tooltips on hover when browsing integration fields with long names.
• Expanded localization to include validation error messages on forms.
• Added minor adjustments and general stability updates.

September 16, 2025

This release includes minor improvements while larger features continue to be developed.

New features and improvements

• Updated Danish localization to make the language clearer.
• Added minor adjustments to the binding editor.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where it was sometimes not possible to move files in content sources.

September 2, 2025

This release focuses on the administrator experience when working with the binding editor.

New features and improvements

• Added a reworked binding editor.
  • Added the option to bind directly to data sources and content sources.
  • Added a guided flow for adding bindings.
  • Added the option to autofill binding keys in form fields when binding to an integration field.
• Added integration fields and integration variables.
  • Binding keys and form field keys can now be prefilled from configured integration fields.
• Added Danish localization in the full admin interface.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where assets did not appear in the content source after upload until the view was refreshed.

New Look & Feel for Create (August 21, 2025)

This release introduces a new design across most areas of Create and the Administration page.

Highlights

• Simplified navigation in Create and administration.
• Streamlined forms.
• Refreshed layout with improved readability and consistency.
• Easier access to administration across available units for Unit Administrators.

Note

Documentation is being updated to reflect the new interface. Some screenshots or instructions may not match the updated design during the transition.

August 19, 2025

This release improves the way administrators work with the binding editor.

New features and improvements

• Added a new Image binding for recipes.
  • All image binding types are merged into one binding type.
  • Old image bindings are marked as legacy.
• Added the option to click images and charts in the recipe editor.
• Added the option to run transformations automatically when working in the recipe editor.
  • Administrators can bind directly to transformed sample data.
  • The administrator can choose whether to be prompted, always transform automatically, or never transform automatically.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where Private Captures could not be updated in some cases.

August 5, 2025

This release focuses on user identity forms, captures, and setup form administration.

New features and improvements

• Updated user identity forms.
  • Users are warned when required user identity form information is missing and are offered to complete the form.
  • Values from user identity form fields used in recipes can now be captured.
• Updated captures.
  • Captures are private by default and can be published to become available to other members of the organization.
  • Users are reminded not to share sensitive information before publishing a capture.
  • Published captures can be unpublished. This removes existing subscriptions.
• Updated form setup.
  • When adding multiple recipes to a recipe reference form field, the recipe picker returns to the previously selected location.
  • TextField and TextInputMultiple were combined into TextField. Multiple lines are now configured as a setting.

Bug fixes

• Fixed a bug where user identity form field settings were visible in the form editor.

July 22, 2025

This release includes support for new authentication mechanisms and improvements across Word and PowerPoint.

New features and improvements

General

• Added a new OpenID Connect authentication mechanism.
  • Public and Confidential clients are supported.
• Captures are no longer included in backups.
• The subdomain field on the login page is now automatically focused when the page loads.

Word

• Added a DateTime binding for Word recipes.
• Added support for bindings to any type of document property in Word recipes.

PowerPoint

• Extended RichTextHtml binding to support more styling attributes.

Bug fixes

• Added minor fixes.

July 8, 2025

This release improves the Create experience and adds a main login page for accessing the application.

New features and improvements

• Added a new login page to help users navigate to their organization.
• The login page is accessed through app.omnidocs.cloud.
• Disabled PDF Forms for preview and generation.
• The form step is skipped for recipes with no form.
• Added a new filter query parameter to Create so users can navigate directly to a search through the URL.

Bug fixes

• Fixed issues with RecipeReference components being validated as okay when required, even when no options were selected.
• Added other minor fixes.

June 25, 2025

New features and improvements

• Added Appendix binding to the engine so appendices can be inserted dynamically at the end of documents.
• Moved form logic to the back end to align API capabilities with the front end.
• Enabled generation of documents based on Virtual Recipes through the API.
• The form step is skipped when creating documents if a recipe contains no form.
• The setting on Date and Number form components for using raw date in transformation is now false by default.

June 9, 2025

New features and improvements

• Multi-select RecipeReference components where all options are mandatory, or where no options are present, are now hidden in the form.
• Added other miscellaneous adjustments.

Bug fixes

• Dropdown lists in the binding editor are now correctly labeled by property name instead of display value.
• Fixed an issue where RichHtmlText in PPTX did not handle styling correctly.
• Fixed issues with authentication for new users logging in for the first time.

May 27, 2025

This release focuses on quality-of-life updates and groundwork for upcoming features.

New features and improvements

• The filename input field is now hidden in the Create add-in for Office.
• Create now remembers the last unit and content source visited and redirects users back to that location.
• Added a Name field on form components so they can be referred to by an internal name without affecting the end-user experience.
• Enabled tags on Virtual Recipes.
• Added alphabetical sorting to unit picker, organization picker, captures, subscriptions, integration types, and tags.
• Date and number formatting is now applied to input data in silent flows.

April 11, 2025

This release includes a rework of roles and several admin experience updates.

• Released a roles rework with extensive changes to the role system in Create.
• Fixed an issue where inserting bindings in the binding editor affected spacing around the binding.
• Improved the Captures view in the user site.
• Updated notification styling.
• Fixed an issue where updating a folder name affected RecipeReference form fields pointing to the folder.

April 1, 2025

New features and improvements

• Paragraph symbol visibility can now be toggled in the recipe editor for more precise selections.
• Tags on recipes are now visible in the Content Sources view of the admin site.
• Standardized the look of Select and RecipeReference form components.
• Added API Reference to the documentation.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue with searching for a document with parentheses in the name.
• Fixed an issue with dynamic file name configuration in duplicated recipes.

March 18, 2025

This release improves admin and user experiences and prepares for upcoming features.

• Dynamic filename can now be set from a recipe in Recipe settings > Dynamic filename.
  • Filenames can currently be based on selections from recipe reference form fields.
• Unit settings were added to backup and restore.
  • User Identity Form is now included.
• Updated external form field groups.
  • The group label now shows the source recipe name instead of the ID.
  • The highlight color has been removed.
• Adjusted checkbox interaction area.

March 4, 2025

This release includes improvements to the Word-to-HTML engine and form field functionality.

• Improved the Word-to-HTML engine. Inserting .docx documents as email elements into New Outlook now supports headings, tables, bullets, numbered lists, cursive, bold, font color, font family, text alignment, links, images, text background color, and checkboxes.
• Merged multiple select form field types and added new functionality.
  • SearchableSelect and Select are now combined as Select.
  • Search and multiple selection are now settings on Select form fields.
  • RecipeReferenceDropdown and MultipleRecipeReferenceDropdown are now combined as RecipeReference.

February 14, 2025

This release focuses on solution functionality and user experience.

• Added the option to change units in the Office JS app.
• An active integration is no longer required for the app to work, although the integration is still needed to obtain the manifest.
• Added drag-and-drop content upload.
  • Dropping a template creates a recipe of the corresponding type with the template uploaded.
  • The template name is used as the recipe name.
• Improved authentication flow speed.
• Added stability improvements when changing content sources.
• Fixed an issue where sample data was recorded while previewing the document.
• Added PPTX engine and backup fixes.

January 31, 2025

This release focuses on care updates and preparation for upcoming features.

• Integrations are no longer overwritten when restoring a backup.
  • Integrations that are not already present in a unit are still added.
• Updated content source types.
  • Content source type is now indicated by icon.
  • Type is also shown in content source settings.
  • Content source type is set from a dropdown in the content source list.
• Increased preview size limit to 30 MB to match the binding editor size limit.
• Validation now allows empty fields if they are not required.
• Fixed issues with dashes in recipe names.
• Fixed an issue where zoom factor reset when updating data in forms.
• Improved reordering of content sources.

December 20, 2024

• Added checkbox form fields.
• Improved the admin user experience.
• Added the option to see the main recipe when editing or creating a virtual recipe.
• Allowed more links to open in a new tab.
• Added the option to open recipes in Create from the platform admin site.
• Grouped menu items.
• Added logout from admin.

November 25, 2024

• Updated authentication flow to make it more reliable and faster.
• Added buttons for navigating between tenants and from user site to admin.
• Added support for adding and previewing static PowerPoint and Excel documents.
• External data can now be passed directly to a recipe using the AppFlow integration and does not need to feed into a form first.
• Added new icons.
• Illegal characters in data sources are now explicitly prohibited.
• Added the content admin role.
