OfficeExtensions Functionality Becoming Unusable

Modified on Mon, 5 Oct at 1:55 PM

OfficeExtensions functionality can become unusable because of the license status.

If the file %appdata%\OfficeExtensions\User\load.file exists on the user's PC it means that the "Unit" string exists in the Global registry key and OfficeExtensions has read it and linked it to a unit with a deactivated license.

This will not result in a UI change such as a prompt but the solution is inoperable.

Activating the unit again in the portal will result in the file, load.file, disappearing short after and the OfficeExtensions functionality soon becoming available again. Office Extensions deletes the file when active in Office (Heartbeat).

The license is succesfully activated when the License Status appears as "Activated".
